Headline inflation rate decreased to 3.0% in August 2018 from 3.1% in July 2018. Inflation decreased for several group indices while increasing marginally for Alcoholic Beverages & Tobacco (from 0.8% to 0.9%) and Housing, Water, Electricity, Gas & Other Fuels (from 3.5% to 3.6%) during the period. Inflation was unchanged for Health, Education and Miscellaneous Goods & Services. The Trimmed Mean Core Inflation rate and Core Inflation rate excluding administered prices fell from 3.1% to 3.0% and 1.7% to 1.6% respectively.
